This week Rabbi Glenn briefly reviewed Yeshua’s words to the churches at Ephesus and Smyrna and then studied Revelation 2:12-17 – Yeshua’s words to the believers in Pergamum (Pergamos). Yeshua commends the believers for their steadfast faith even in the face of martyrdom. (Their Bishop, Antipas, was martyred for the faith.) But Yeshua condemns their tolerance of a handful of Nicolaitans in their midst (who advocated sexual immorality) comparing the teaching of the Nicolaitans to the teaching of Balaam. Rabbi Glenn also reviewed the circumstances of the Balaam-Balak conspiracy to curse Israel and why Yeshua made such a comparison.
